Network Check Home Scan
In short: a free Windows program that looks at the devices inside your home, like computers, TVs and cameras, and tells you in plain words which ones could use attention.
Why a program as well as a website
This website can only see your home from the outside, the way a stranger on the internet would. It cannot see your TV, your cameras or your computers. The Home Scan program runs on your own computer and looks at the devices on your own Wi-Fi.
What it does
- You tick a box to say it is your own home network, then press a button. It takes about a minute.
- It lists devices that have something open that is worth a look, with a plain-English explanation and a link to a guide on this site.
- If nothing needs attention, it says so.
What it does not do
- It only looks. It never changes anything, never tries passwords and never tries to get in.
- It only checks your own home network, and only when you ask.
- It sends nothing off your computer. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
- A clear result does not mean everything is safe. It cannot see whether a device is up to date or how strong your Wi-Fi password is.
