Terms of use
In short: use Network Check on your own internet connection and your own home network, and treat what it tells you as a helpful look, not a promise that you are safe.

Who we are
Network Check (networkcheck.app) and the Network Check Home Scan program are free tools made by 42 O'Clock Studios, part of Frequency 42. You can reach us at support@frequency42.com.
Only check what is yours
- The website check can only look at the internet address you are visiting from. You cannot point it anywhere else, and you must not try to.
- Network Check Home Scan, including the Linux and Mac download, is for a home or office network that you own or that you have permission to check. Do not run it on anyone else's network, or on a school, hotel, workplace or public Wi-Fi, without their clear permission.
- Do not use these tools to harass, probe or attack anyone, to get around the limits we set, or to put heavy load on the site. We may block use that looks like abuse.
What the tools can and cannot tell you
The tools look for a short list of common open doors and explain them in plain words. They cannot see whether your devices are up to date, how strong your Wi-Fi password is, or everything that could be wrong. A clear result is good news, not a guarantee. Guides and how-to pages are general help written from manufacturers' public instructions. Menus change between models and software versions, so what you see may differ.
No warranty, and limits on our responsibility
These tools and guides are provided free and "as is", without any warranty of any kind. You use them, and follow the guides, at your own risk. Changing router or computer settings can interrupt your internet or your devices, so write down what you change and ask someone you trust if you are unsure. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that results from using the tools or guides, and our total responsibility to you for anything connected with them is limited to the amount you paid us, which for these free tools is zero. Some places do not allow these limits, and then only the limits that are allowed apply.
The program
You may use Network Check Home Scan for free for your own personal and household use. Its source is a single readable file. Please do not remove our name from it or offer it as your own. The Linux and Mac file is provided under the same terms as the Windows program.
Ads, links and other sites
This site shows ads and some Amazon links that may earn us a commission, as described on the privacy page. We do not control other websites, products or companies we link to and are not responsible for them. Mentioning a brand is not an endorsement, and brand names belong to their owners.
Changes and contact
We may change these terms or the tools, or stop offering them, at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms. Questions go to support@frequency42.com.
Paid help from us
You can buy email help ($39) or email help plus a call ($99) on the support page. Email help is one written reply, with steps for your devices and router, based on the report or result you send. The call option adds up to 30 minutes by phone or Google Meet, arranged by email. Prices are the ones shown at checkout, and payment is taken by Stripe. If we cannot help, we refund you in full. Otherwise, because the work is done when we reply, we do not refund after the reply is sent, except where the law says we must.
We give guidance only. We do not ask for your passwords, and we do not take control of your computer or router. You decide what to change on your own devices, and we are not responsible for the result.
